Wave Computing is seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to contribute to the on-going development of our series of Dataflow Computers for Deep Learning Acceleration. Collaborating with the technical and management teams, you’ll be at the forefront of the architecture, design and implementation of Wave’s system solutions.
Overview
Responsible for technical aspects of the product design/development cycle, including design, implementation, validation, release to manufacturing/production, and testing of Dataflow Computer boards and systems.
Required Skills and Experiences
- MSEE with 5+ years of relevant experience, or BSEE with 8+ years of relevant experience
- Proven track record of developing PCB boards and/or systems throughout product cycle
- Demonstrates best-practice design methodologies to achieve high performance designs
- Must have high-speed design and verification, and systems bring-up and debugging experience, including usage of lab debug and analysis equipment
- Experienced in power supply design and power integrity optimization
- Familiarity with standard high-speed SERDES interfaces and DDR memory interfaces as well as low-speed interfaces such as I2C, SMBus/PMBus, and JTAG
- Expert user in schematic capture and PCB layout tools
- Lead & supervise PCB layout, fab & board/system assembly
- Strong working knowledge of best practices for PCB layout and fabrication
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, strong debugger
- Good communication skills with cross functional teams & vendors

- High-speed signal integrity simulation and analysis tool experience
- Conduct PCB layout and component selection when necessary
- Thorough, disciplined, methodical, with good documentation practices
- Sound judgment and understanding of system-level impact of design choices
- Contribute to architectural definition and system performance analysis
- Lead and manage projects with vendors (CM/JDM/ODM/OEM) on all aspects of the design to maximize the result
- Comfortable with writing initial bring-up code and scripting during systems bring-up
- Familiarity with thermal solutions for boards and systems
- Motivated, self-starter, with a can-do attitude and an ability to quickly pick up and own new concepts, and to contribute to innovative solutions
